Who We Are

The Vietnam Lifestyle Medicine Alliance was established in 2025 to support the credible, collaborative, and locally relevant development of Lifestyle Medicine in Viet Nam.

We connect healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, organizations, and international partners interested in improving chronic disease prevention and care through evidence-based lifestyle interventions.

Our Vision

A healthier Viet Nam where lifestyle-based care is appropriately understood, accessible, and integrated across healthcare education, clinical practice, and community health.

Our Mission

To advance evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine in Viet Nam through professional education, community development, evidence translation, research collaboration, and responsible implementation.

VLMA works to:

- Build Lifestyle Medicine knowledge and professional capability.

- Develop a multidisciplinary professional community.

- Translate international evidence into the Vietnamese context.

- Support education, research, quality improvement, and implementation.

- Connect Viet Nam with regional and global Lifestyle Medicine networks.

Evidence First

Our work is grounded in peer-reviewed evidence, recognized professional standards, and continuous learning.

Clinically Responsible

Lifestyle Medicine complements appropriate medical care. Activities must remain within professional scope and applicable regulations.

Person-Centered and Culturally Relevant

Interventions should reflect individual priorities, Vietnamese culture, available resources, and the social conditions that influence health.

Collaborative

Effective Lifestyle Medicine requires physicians, allied health professionals, educators, researchers, communities, and healthcare organizations to work together.

Independent and Transparent

Commercial relationships must never determine VLMA’s scientific positions, educational content, or professional recommendations.

Governance and Social Enterprise Model

VLMA is operated by Vietnam Lifestyle Medicine Alliance Company Limited, a Vietnam-registered social enterprise.

One hundred percent of surplus is reinvested in professional education, community development, evidence dissemination, research, and the advancement of Lifestyle Medicine in Viet Nam.

VLMA is currently in a foundation-building stage under interim physician-led leadership. Its governance will continue to evolve as its membership and organizational capacity develop, with a commitment to transparency, participation, and alignment with LMGA principles and Vietnamese law.

International Affiliation

VLMA joined the Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance as a Sister Organisation in 2025. This relationship supports professional connection, knowledge exchange, organizational development, and the advancement of evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine in Viet Nam.

VLMA is not the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine and does not issue IBLM certification.
